CONTRAINDICATIONS
Contraindications are issues or illnesses that make an Advanced Facial Treatment unsuitable or restricts the timing of treatment. Contraindications that may prohibit or postpone the treatment:
Pregnant - cannot be treated.
Breastfeeding - cannot be treated.
Sunburn - must wait for 3 weeks prior to treatment.
Chemotherapy - cannot treat while undergoing medical treatment and must be in complete remission. Doctor’s approval is required.
Infectious Diseases (HIV, hepatitis, etc.) - cannot be treated due to the nature of illness.
Diabetes - Type 1 diabetes cannot undergo treatment. Type 2 diabetes on insulin injections. Must be controlled before procedure. Although it is not a serious condition, doctor’s approval is required.
Keloid Scarring - cannot be treated due to increased risk of developing scar tissue.
Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) - cannot be treated due to the high risk of pigmentation issues.
Autoimmune Diseases or Disorders - may not be treated due to nature of illness and a higher risk of infection. Doctor’s approval is required.
Skin Disease, Disorder or Condition - skin cancer, melanoma or other skin lesions, psoriasis, eczema, hives, active infections or open wounds – cannot be treated | rosacea, acne, hives – must not have an active outbreak. Doctor’s approval may be required.
Moles - cannot be treated if moles are irregular (melanoma) or if you have a lot of ordinary moles, otherwise can be treated around the moles.
Cold Sores/Herpes - cannot perform procedure during an active outbreak. Prescribed antiviral medication must be taken 2 days prior to procedure, on day of procedure and 2 days after procedure to reduce risk of infection as procedure may cause an outbreak. Consult with physician.
Blood Disorders - any blood disorders such as blood clotting, sickle cell, anemia, hemophilia, or taking large doses of aspirin. Doctor’s approval is required.
Eye Disorder or Infection - eyes must be fully healed and healthy. Doctor’s approval may be required.
Botox and/or Dermal Fillers - must wait 2 weeks following injection date.
Laser Vision Correction - must wait 6 months following procedure date.
Blepharoplasty Surgery (Eye Lift) - must wait 1 year following surgery date.
Photosensitivity/Photo Allergic - Rejuvenate Facial treatment includes LED light therapy but can be omitted from the treatment.
Sensitivities/Allergies to PABA (Sunscreen) - sunscreen must be applied to protect skin.
Bruise Easily - may experience bruising and redness.
Chemical Skin Peel Treatments - skin must be completely recovered prior to procedure date. Must wait 2 weeks following skin treatment date.
IPL or Laser Treatments - skin must be completely recovered prior to procedure date. Must wait 3 weeks following skin treatment date.
Tanning or Have Eyebrows and/or Upper Lip Waxed - allow skin 3 weeks to recover following a tanning session or strong exposure to sunlight and allow skin 3 days to recover following a waxing session.
Contact Lenses - contact lenses must be removed prior to procedure.
There are many medications that can possibly interfere with the Rejuvenate Facial Treatment.
Anticoagulants (blood thinners) - cannot undergo treatment.
Acetylsalicylic Acid (ASA) Medications - also known as Aspirin, as well as products containing Aspirin including ibuprofen (Advil). Avoid usage for 3 days prior to and on day of appointment.
Vitamin A - avoid usage for 3-5 days prior to appointment.
Retinol/Retin-A - avoid usage for 3-5 days prior to appointment. Doctor’s approval is required if it is a prescription medication (dosage may interfere with treatment and you may have to stop use for a longer time period.)
Acne Medication (topical or oral) - cannot be treated if taking Accutane, Tretinoin or Isotreonin medications. Must be off medication for at least 6 months prior to appointment.
Cortisone Medications - doctor’s approval is required.
If taking prescribed topical or oral medication, doctor’s approval may be required.
AFTERCARE
Please follow these directions carefully:
Do not wet or wash face for 24 hours following treatment.
Do not wear makeup following treatment until treated area is healed (minimum of 3 days for Nano-Needling and Meso-Stamping, minimum 7 days for Micro-Needling and Bio Micro-Needling).
Do not exercise for the first 48 hours following treatment.
Do not use forceful scrubbing with towels, loofahs, sponges, or silicone scrubbers for a minimum of 48 hours following treatment.
Do not participate in hot yoga, take hot showers, swim in a public pool, use sauna, steam room or hot tub for two weeks following treatment.
Do not receive any facial treatments for two weeks following treatment.
Do not use harsh soaps, scrubs, exfoliators and heavy skincare products on the face for two weeks following treatment.
Do not use skin care products containing AHA’s (glycolic, salicylic, peels) or retinols, skin scrubs, laser treatments, exfoliates of any kind and chemical peels for three weeks following treatment.
Do not expose face to direct sunlight or tanning bed for two to three weeks following treatment.
Do not expose face to water pressure from the shower following treatment.
Do not apply ice or ice water to treated areas.
Avoid extreme water temperatures.
Avoid excessive heat.
Sunscreen with SPF 30 can be applied daily, two to three days following treatment.

LED LIGHT THERAPY
LED, or light emitting diode therapy is a skincare treatment that uses varying wavelengths of light to help serums and moisturizers penetrate the skin after a facial treatment. LED light therapy has a positive effect on cell growth, collagen and elastin production, and helps lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
NASA originally developed it for plant growth experiments on shuttle missions and later found it to have promise for wound treatment. LED light therapy is used to help regenerate the skin from aging and also used to treat acne.
Red, blue, green or yellow light frequencies are used based on the skincare concern. Red is used to combat wrinkles and increase collagen production. Blue is used to eliminate acne-causing bacteria, reduce acne and help ease inflamed skin. Green is used to promote healing, even out skin tone and help reduce redness. Yellow is used to help stimulate the lymphatic system, soothe sensitive skin and brighten complexion.
Unlike other types of light therapy, LEDs do not contain ultraviolet rays, so it is safe for regular use.
LED light therapy doesn’t cause burns compared to other anti-aging treatments and may be safe for all skin colours and types.
You should not use LED light therapy if you take Accutane for acne or if you’re experiencing skin rashes.
Side effects are rare, but may include increased inflammation, redness, and rashes.
